Position: Systems Test Engineer

Location: Columbia, MD (hybrid potential)

Duration: Permanent

Salary: 100k – 120k

Travel Requirements:

• 20% travel domestic and international (Vienna, Austria)

Must-haves

• 5+ years of experience testing hardware
• Writing test plans and test procedures based on system requirements
• Experience testing Air Traffic Management, Radio Control Equipment, and/or VoIP systems
• Experience working with digital and analog telecommunications systems (VoIP and radio systems)
• Experience with telecommunications protocols
• Familiar with Linux Operating Systems
• BS in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related

Plusses:

• Experience with test tools and equipment (oscilloscope, transmission impairment measurement set (TIMS), Multimeter, Viavi T-BERD, Sage Multi-Channel Test Instrument
• Experience with network analysis tools (Wireshark, Ethereal)
• Experience with Bug tracking systems (JIRA)

Insight Global is seeking to hire a Systems Test Engineer in Columbia, MD to work for an international technology company that develops communication and information systems for air traffic management. This individual should have a strong background in hardware and software system-level testing of Mission critical and/or Air Traffic Management systems, network infrastructure, and radio-telephone communications software and hardware elements. This role will conduct and provide support for informal testing, customer acceptance testing, and other test related activities. Additional responsibilities include:

• Perform functional, maintenance/reliability, stability/load, performance, analysis security, voice quality, and environmental tests
• Manage test scripts and test equipment
• Identify and fully document any defects/anomalies and determine how to recreate the issue
• Maintain records of test results
