We've partnered with one of the largest and most sophisticated environmental regulatory agencies in the country to help hire an experienced Senior Deputy District Counsel . This agency plays a critical role in improving air quality for over 17 million residents across Southern California.

This is a high-impact opportunity for an attorney with strong litigation, environmental, and administrative law experience to take on a leadership role within a dynamic legal team. The position includes mentoring junior counsel, overseeing litigation strategy, and directly advising regulatory teams on complex legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Represent the agency in litigation and administrative hearings.
• Supervise junior attorneys and legal support staff.
• Draft rules, contracts, leases, permits, and legal opinions.
• Provide counsel to executive leadership and regulatory teams.
• Lead investigations and prepare cases for civil or criminal prosecution.
• Handle legal matters related to environmental compliance and government operations.

Ideal Background:

• Active California Bar license.
• 5+ years of legal experience (including trial or administrative litigation).
• Background in environmental law, government/regulatory law, or administrative hearings.
• Experience with Clean Air Act, air quality regulations, or environmental enforcement a strong plus.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and advisory skills.
