Job Description
This fleet mechanic will be responsible for servicing all district vehicles and equipment, doing both preventative maintenance and emergency maintenance.
Repairs will include:
- tire work
- suspension
- electrical
- heating/cooling
- body
- other subsystem repairs This person will help diagnose and repair vehicle defects including:
- engine
- transmission
- brake
- emission repairs
They will perform mandated safety and emissions inspections on vehicles, with little to no supervision. This person will also be "on call" to roadside assistance (bus break downs mid route, stuck in the snow, etc.). The mechanic will be responsible for docking all hours spent on parts/vehicles, and detailing work done. The shift will range from 9-5:30pm M-F, so this mechanic will be responsible for closing down the shop.
Required Skills & Experience
- 2+ years of experience working with MEDIUM and HEAVY-DUTY diesel work
