Machine Operator

Company that manufactures plastic packaging is looking for a Machine Operator for their 2nd shift.

Primary function:


To operate and set-up thermoforming machines in such a manner as to maintain high quality production under controlled process parameters while achieving maximum efficiency with minimum losses and downtime.




Duties:

• Read and understand the quality specifications on assigned machines and maintain that standard or shut the machine down and correct the problem. Check parts at least every 15 minutes and document finding (?) pass or fail when required. Fail results in corrective action, including disposition of finished product, which must be obtained from manager. Must review the retains and check for defects thoroughly. Then document findings in the Infinity program ? out of spec situations must be placed on hold for disposition.
• Operate 1-2 machines with minimal assistance with loss and efficiency that meets the corporate goal.
• Understand process control. Out of control situations need to place on hold and disposition by unit manager.
• Develop and utilize trouble-shooting skills as training and experience progress. Identify problems and recommend and /or implement solutions. Seek assistance from technicians, leads, and managers to further advance capabilities.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Good math skills.
• Basic knowledge of computers.
• Quality oriented.
• Effectively communicate in verbal, written and electronic formats to co-workers and occasionally customers/visitors.

Hours: M-TH 3:45pm-2:15am (4-10's) and ability to work Fridays when mandatory for overtime as needed.
Starting pay: $20.56/hour + shift premium of $1.75. Shift premium only applies when working the 2nd shift hours.
Ability to train on 1st shift and potential for travel within first 2 months to our other facilities for training.
