Role

This is a management-level position to oversee the entire importation process for international shipments and manage a team of import administrators. The position includes managing client accounts, ensuring daily task completion, and maintaining accountability for compliance and transaction accuracy within the scope of responsibility. 

Responsibilities

• Oversee and process end-to-end customs clearance across all modes of transportation
• Supervise and support a team of entry writers
• Ensure compliance with CBP regulations and all applicable PGAs (FDA, USDA, EPA, etc.)
• Handle classification, audits, and post-entry processes
• Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding complex entry issues
• Liaise with U.S. Customs and other government agencies as needed
• Prompt invoicing of charges, verification of accounting information, and assistance to the accounting department with invoice collection as required.
• Drive process improvements and maintain KPIs for speed, accuracy, and compliance
• Train and mentor team members
• Stay current on regulatory changes and communicate updates to the team
• Engage in continuing education
• Other tasks as assigned by supervisor(s)

Qualifications

• Licensed U.S. Customs Broker
• 5+ years of experience in customs brokerage and import/export operations
• Strong working knowledge of U.S. import regulations and HTS classification
• Experience working with Descartes OneView (or similar platforms)
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) accreditation a plus
