Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager, Freight Operations to lead our freight forwarding operations in USA. The ideal candidate will bring strong industry knowledge, proven leadership in operational environments, and a drive to grow the business.

As General Manager, you will be responsible for leading daily operations, managing key customer and vendor relationships, driving business growth, and overseeing financial performance. 

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a small freight operations team across multiple locations to ensure efficient day-to-day performance
• Coordinate with internal network offices overseas, Centre of Excellence (COE) and agents
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and act as the escalation point for key customer issues
• Manage relationships with shipping lines, co-loaders, and other logistics vendors
• Prepare and manage competitive freight forwarding quotations in consultation with internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with the sales and commercial teams to align operational capabilities with growth goals
• Oversee P&L and ensure profitability
• Drive business growth and operational improvements
• Participate in all audits, quality and excellence initiatives

Experience

• 10 - 12 years in the Freight Forwarding Industry with 3 – 5 years’ experience in managerial capacity
• Strong knowledge of ocean freight, operations and rate management
• Skilled in building customer and vendor relationships
• Commercially savvy with a growth mindset
• Hands-on leader with a passion for teamwork and results
• Familiarity with Cargowise One will be advantageous
