Overview

Mackenzie Stuart is partnered with a high-growth, PE-backed Dental Services Organization (DSO) seeking a hands-on Corporate Controller to help build out scalable finance infrastructure and support rapid national expansion.

This is an ideal opportunity for a team player who thrives in fast-paced, multi-site environments and is comfortable wearing multiple hats. The Corporate Controller will report directly to the CFO, lead a team including two Senior Accountants, Accounts Payable, and offshore resources, and play a critical role in driving timely month-end close, audit readiness, and process improvement. Experience in dental or relevant healthcare sectors is highly valued.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all core controller functions, including month-end close, cash flow, audit, and group consolidation, ensuring quick and accurate reporting.
• Build out and enhance finance infrastructure, processes, and controls to support ongoing growth, acquisitions, and integration of new practices.
• Lead and develop a finance team (2 Senior Accountants, Accounts Payable, offshore support), fostering collaboration and accountability.
• Maintain statutory records and ensure compliance with tax, audit, and regulatory requirements (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax).
• Manage year-end audit process and all external reporting to lenders and stakeholders.
• Support M&A activity, including acquisition accounting, integration, and familiarity with financial models.
• Identify and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and reporting accuracy.
• Act as a key business partner to the CFO and executive team, providing financial insights for strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• CPA qualification required; (ACA preferred).
• 5+ years’ experience in financial management, ideally within dental, healthcare, or multi-site operations.
• Proven track record as a hands-on controller, building out finance infrastructure in fast-paced, high-growth environments.
• Experience managing teams and working with both onshore and offshore resources.
• Strong technical skills in finance systems and advanced Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with audit, core controller responsibilities, and M&A processes.
• Background in PE-backed or high-growth businesses is advantageous.
