Summary/Objective:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. This role involves managing financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing support for audits and tax filings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
• Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
• Prepare and file tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
• Maintain and update the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are recorded accurately.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
• Mentor and train junior accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
• Stay current with changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring the company remains compliant.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP and other relevant accounting standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification preferred.

Years’ Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
