Job Summary

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing various aspects of the company’s financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting policies, and supporting strategic decision-making. This role requires someone with significant experience in technical accounting, ERP systems, financial reporting, and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in creating annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Analyze variances and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Cost Accounting: Support cost accounting activities, including overhead allocation, labor efficiency analysis, and inventory valuation.
  • Reconciliations: Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations for general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers.
  • Audit Support: Prepare and provide documentation for external audits, ensuring compliance with internal controls and policies.
  • ERP Management: Leverage ERP software to streamline accounting processes, including data entry, reporting, and analysis.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for automation and workflow optimization to enhance efficiencies.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations, including sales tax, payroll deductions, and regulatory filings.
  • Leadership Role: Mentor and guide junior accounting staff, contributing to team development and skill-building initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA desired not required).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, with at least 3 years in a senior-level capacity.
  • Expertise in ERP systems and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, compliance, and technical accounting.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing accounting processes, including cost accounting.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a great team in a fast-moving environment.
