NetSuite Project Financial Management Consultant

Position: Senior Consultant – NetSuite (Construction Finance & Project Accounting)

Experience: 12+ Years

Location: Onsite (New York)

Primary Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced professional with a strong background in Construction Finance and Project Financial Management to lead NetSuite implementation and support engagements. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving end-to-end project accounting processes, ensuring accurate financial planning, execution, and reporting.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Project Accounting
  • Project Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Project Costing, Allocations & Capitalization
  • Project Billing & Revenue Recognition (Percentage of Completion, Milestone, T&M)
  • Project Analytics & Profitability Reporting

Financial Management

  • Deep expertise in Construction project financials including WIP, Contract Accounting, and Cost Control.
  • Strong knowledge of financial governance, compliance, and internal controls in a project-led environment.

NetSuite ERP

  • Hands-on experience in implementing or supporting NetSuite Project Financial Management modules.
  • Ability to map business requirements into NetSuite functionalities.
  • Design and configure workflows, custom reports, and dashboards for project-centric financial reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work with CFOs, Finance Controllers, and Project Managers to align financial processes with system capabilities.
  • Conduct workshops, requirement gathering, and end-user training.

Secondary Responsibilities (R2R – Finance)

  • Manage Record-to-Report (R2R) cycles with emphasis on construction project environments.
  • Support General Ledger, Consolidation, Financial Reporting, and Compliance activities.
  • Ensure smooth month-end and year-end closing aligned with project accounting standards.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA), ICWA, CPA, or equivalent finance qualification.
  • 10+ years of experience in project Finance management consultant, with a minimum of 3+ years on Construction/Project Financial Management.
  • Proven hands-on expertise in NetSuite ERP (Project Accounting, Financial Management).
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS / US GAAP accounting standards for construction and project businesses.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Exposure to ERP implementations (Oracle, SAP, MS Dynamics) in addition to NetSuite.
  • Experience in managing client-facing roles and leading workshops.
  • Ability to mentor junior consultants and finance teams.
