Job Description

Job Title: Private Equity Analyst/Associate

Location: Greenwich, CT (4 days/week in office)

Base Salary: $185,000 – $220,000

About the Role:

We are seeking a high-performing Analyst/Associate with 2–3 years of experience in Audit, Transaction Advisory, or an Office of the CFO environment to join our client’s dynamic team. This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong accounting foundation—preferably a CPA—and a passion for diving into complex financial data. The new hire will join a structured, two-year development program designed to groom future Partner-track profiles.

Key Responsibilities:

Deal Evaluation & Execution

  • Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitive benchmarking to support investment theses.
  • Analyze potential investment opportunities through detailed financial modeling (LBO, DCF, comparables, precedent transactions).
  • Participate in due diligence processes, including coordination with legal, accounting, and operational advisors.
  • Prepare investment memos and presentation materials for internal committees.

Portfolio Company Support

  • Assist with ongoing monitoring of portfolio companies, including financial performance tracking and KPI reporting.
  • Support operational improvement initiatives in collaboration with management teams.
  • Prepare internal reports and updates for investment team and LPs.

Financial Modeling & Analysis

  • Build and maintain complex Excel models to project future performance, evaluate return profiles, and assess risk.
  • Conduct scenario and sensitivity analyses to evaluate investment outcomes.

Industry & Market Research

  • Monitor trends across sectors and identify new investment themes and targets.
  • Conduct in-depth research on specific companies, technologies, or verticals of interest.

Relationship Management

  • Support deal sourcing efforts by maintaining relationships with bankers, brokers, and industry executives.
  • Assist in organizing and attending management meetings, site visits, and conferences.

Qualifications:

  • 2–3 years of experience in Audit, Transaction Advisory, or an Office of the CFO function.
  • Strong preference for CPA designation or progress toward CPA.
  • Excellent Excel skills and experience with financial modeling.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, high-performance culture.
  • Must be willing to be in-office 4 days per week.
