About the role:

We’re looking for a part-time SEO Specialist to lead and execute our organic search efforts across a wide variety of clients, with the potential to evolve into a full-time role . The ideal candidate is strategic, adaptable, and excited about where search is headed—particularly as AI transforms how users discover and engage with content.

This role is perfect for someone who can own SEO strategy and implementation, but who’s also eager to stay at the forefront of evolving search behavior, from Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE) to the rise of AI-assisted browsing. You’ll work closely with our creative, content, and analytics teams to deliver meaningful results and forward-thinking insights for our clients.

What you’ll do:

You don’t just optimize—you innovate. You ask not only what works, but why , and what's coming next . You have a strong grasp of technical SEO but also understand the human side: what users are searching for, how they interact with AI-driven results, and what content earns attention and trust. You’re excited to grow organic search into a high-performing, revenue-driving channel for every client.

Primary Responsibilities

Your role will span four key areas:

Develop SEO Strategy

  • Craft and evolve smart, future-forward SEO strategies based on search intent, client goals, and changing SERP trends (including AEO/GEO)
  • Evaluate competitive landscape and identify content gaps 
  • Develop a multi-channel strategy that includes traditional SEO (on-page, technical), AEO/GEO, Video/Search hybrid strategy (YouTube, Shorts, etc.)
  • Create guidelines for content, design and dev teams both internally and with external clients
  • Stay ahead of emerging search formats including Google’s Search Generative Experience (SGE), AI-assisted browsing, and voice search

Implement & Manage SEO

  • Manage technical SEO health and coordinate with developers to implement redirects, resolve errors and enhance site structure
  • Integrate structured data (JSON-LD schema) for enhanced visibility in generative and visual search
  • Ensure CMS is optimized for ongoing SEO needs
  • Execute on-page and backend SEO improvements including metadata, structured data, internal linking, and more
  • Lead execution of content briefs and on-site publishing plans

Analyze & Optimize

  • Monitor performance through GA4, Search Console, Ahrefs, and other SEO tools
  • Monitor performance of new SERP features (featured snippets, AI overviews)
  • Translate data into actionable insights and communicate clearly with both internal teams and clients
  • Conduct technical audits, competitive analyses, keyword and AEO/GEO research
  • A/B test title tags, meta descriptions, and content blocks for performance
  • Continuously test, learn, and iterate to improve rankings, visibility, and conversion

Innovate & Grow

  • Identify AI-powered content opportunities/SEO tools, and when to avoid them
  • Monitor Google algorithm updates, search trends, and emerging platforms (Reddit indexing, TikTok search, etc.)
  • Experiment with schema-driven content blocks for AEO and entity recognition
  • Develop long form, evergreen content that feeds into topic clusters and topical authority
  • Champion cross-functional SEO education across the team
  • Mentor junior talent and help build the future of our search practice as we grow

Required Skills & Experience

You're a great fit for this role if:

  • You have 3+ years of hands-on SEO experience, ideally within an agency or across multiple brands
  • You’re proficient with Ahrefs, Search Console, Screaming Frog, and related SEO platforms
  • You’re comfortable communicating strategy, results, and next steps with clients and cross-functional teams
  • You’re excited about how AI, user intent, and behavior are reshaping search and have a solid understanding of this new era
  • You’re resourceful, collaborative, and genuinely invested in the work and the people doing it
