Job Description

The Town of Rockland is seeking a welcoming, organized, and service-oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Receptionist at the Nyman Senior Center within the Council on Aging (COA). This role provides front-desk support and a range of clerical and customer service functions that help the Senior Center operate smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist senior citizens, visitors, program instructors, and Town personnel
  • Answer phone calls and emails in a professional and pleasant manner
  • Schedule appointments and maintain a phone call log
  • Assist with drafting the Senior Center newsletter and updating informational screen content
  • Prepare weekly reports for Meals on Wheels and lunch programs
  • Operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.)
  • Maintain confidentiality of department and client records
  • Perform other related clerical duties as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior office and/or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to use standard office equipment
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion

Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based at the Nyman Senior Center and involves frequent interaction with the public, computer use, and standard office equipment.
