Job Description
The Town of Rockland is seeking a welcoming, organized, and service-oriented individual to serve as a Part-Time Receptionist at the Nyman Senior Center within the Council on Aging (COA). This role provides front-desk support and a range of clerical and customer service functions that help the Senior Center operate smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist senior citizens, visitors, program instructors, and Town personnel
- Answer phone calls and emails in a professional and pleasant manner
- Schedule appointments and maintain a phone call log
- Assist with drafting the Senior Center newsletter and updating informational screen content
- Prepare weekly reports for Meals on Wheels and lunch programs
- Operate standard office equipment (copier, fax, etc.)
- Maintain confidentiality of department and client records
- Perform other related clerical duties as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior office and/or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use standard office equipment
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
Work Environment
This position is primarily office-based at the Nyman Senior Center and involves frequent interaction with the public, computer use, and standard office equipment.
