Position Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our school-based therapy team. The Occupational Therapist will support students’ academic success, independence, and participation in school activities by addressing fine motor, sensory processing, self-care, and functional skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEPs and 504 plans
- Conduct evaluations, assessments, and re-evaluations using appropriate standardized tools
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans aligned with educational goals
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and multidisciplinary teams
- Support students in classroom, school, and community-based settings as appropriate
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with state, federal, and district regulations
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute professional recommendations
- Consult with staff regarding classroom accommodations and adaptive strategies
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Active Maryland Occupational Therapy license (or eligibility)
- NBCOT certification
- School-based or pediatric experience preferred
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
