Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Moderator for a 12-month Contract job with a client in Sunnyvale, CA. You will be working on a small, nimble, cross-functional team to support data collection projects on users. You will report to project leads or onsite manager and will be responsible for scheduling users for studies, setting up and breakdown of study stations, and troubleshooting technical issues.

Pay Range: $25-$30/ hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and conduct live in-person moderated usability testing sessions
• Facilitate sessions in a neutral, professional manner to avoid leading or biasing participants
• Follow research protocols while adapting to real-time participant needs and behaviors
• Set up and break down study session areas
• Gather and manage data from test devices
• Ensure participant comfort, engagement, and informed consent throughout the study
• Record other requested non-data-related information and/or study session issues
• Communicate day-to-day results, statuses, and issues about the user study & data

Minimum Qualifications

• Familiarity with iOS, watchOS, macOS, or their hardware
• Detail-oriented and able to follow directions with no deviation from the instructions
• Ability to adjust and deliver in a fast-paced and ever-changing dynamic environment
• Quick-learner/Self-starter with an ability to distill complex matter
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Software and Hardware Troubleshooting
• Comfortable with consistently being under fluorescent lights
• Command line experience with a terminal

Preferred Qualifications

• Retail or other retail/hospitality customer experience
• Some education in Human Factors
• User Experience moderating
