Job Description
Mechanical Test Technician Looking for a Jr mechanical tester to test, troubleshoot, & inspect consumer electronics in a HW R&D lab environment. This person should have an understanding of HW evaluation methodologies, including development of test cases/suites, fixture and mockup design, performance monitoring, and data analysis. They will collaborate with engineers & technicians to produce timely and quality testing results in the development of products.
Required: • Experience with mechanical testing & inspections specifically on consumer electronics in an R&D lab environment.
• Experience using mechanical lab & machine shop equipment and tools: Laser cutters, band saws, drill presses, Instrons, drop towers, high speed cams, DAQs, power supplies, DMMs.
• Experience setting up tests & instrumentation for data collection & reporting.
• Proficiency with NX CAD SW.
• Proficiency with Google software suite - Sheets, Docs, Drive, Meet.
• Ability to work from schematics, CAD drawings, rough engineering drawings and/or verbal instruction.
• Meticulous and discerning eye for optical measurements.
• Proactive team player with good follow-through and the ability to accept critical feedback, working on tasks semi autonomously after some training & experience.
• Flexibility to perform tests in multiple testing environments that may involve electrical, mechanical, thermal, etc.
Pluses: • Knowledge of LabVIEW programming and NI equipment.
• Strong theoretical background in the mechanics of solids and electrical circuits.
• Experience using digital and laser scanning microscopes and OMMs: shape analysis, surface roughness, flatness, profile, & tolerance measurements.
• Experience creating unit test plans.
Estimated Min Rate : $30.00
Estimated Max Rate : $40.00
