Job Description

Job Opportunity: Impact Investment Operations Professional

Location: Palo Alto, CA | Type: Full-Time (On-site, 5 days/week)

The Opportunity: Architect Our Impact Engine

We are a confidential Single Family Office investing to solve humanity’s most pressing challenges. Our mandate is global and agnostic to structure—we deploy capital into funds, real assets, and direct solutions to drive transformative change in Planet, Equity, Health, and Poverty .

We are seeking an entrepreneurial operations architect to join a flat, high-performing team led by a Director with 18+ years of experience. This is not a back-office support role; it is a strategic position where you will build the infrastructure that allows us to deploy capital thoughtfully and efficiently.

What You Will Do

You will own the operational lifecycle of our portfolio, managing the flow of capital into complex funds and real asset investments from "concept" to "deployed impact."

1. Investment Execution & Trade Support

  • Manage the Lifecycle: Oversee the execution of investments into charitable and non-charitable entities, including managing multiple closes and tranches for both fund and real asset structures.
  • Transaction Management: Handle subscription and redemption documents, coordinate capital calls and distributions, and manage KYC/AML requests with external fund administrators and legal teams.
  • Due Diligence: Coordinate operational due diligence (ODD) and manage access to data rooms and sensitive manager documentation.

2. Portfolio Operations & Data Integrity

  • System Architecture: Develop and maintain our "source of truth" for investment data. You will leverage technology to automate data collection and ensure the integrity of our Investment Book of Record.
  • Performance Analytics: Prepare deployment forecasts and performance reports for internal stakeholders, bringing a strategic lens to how we track financial and impact returns.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously enhance governance practices and internal controls, ensuring our workflow remains agile yet compliant.

3. Field Building & Knowledge Management

  • Impact Tracking: Go beyond financial metrics to track impact outcomes across our poverty, equity, health, and planet portfolios, helping us "make sense" of trends and key findings from our investees.
  • Ecosystem Engagement: Support investees with operational capacity building, helping them grow industry best practices.

Who You Are

  • Experienced: 5+ years of practical experience in investment operations at a family office, endowment, foundation, or asset manager.
  • Asset Class Fluency: You are comfortable handling the distinct operational requirements of both investment funds (capital calls, subscriptions) and real assets (valuations, physical asset tracking).
  • Technically Sharp: You have mastery of Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Excel. Experience with database tools or systems like Addepar, Solovis, or Dynamo is a strong plus.
  • Educated & Credentialed: MBA/Master’s preferred. CPA, CAIA, or CFA designations are highly desirable.
  • Mission-Aligned: You have a genuine passion for our thematic areas—especially fighting poverty and protecting the planet—and want your daily work to contribute to a "more just, verdant, and peaceful world."
  • In-Person Collaborator: You thrive in a high-touch, collaborative environment and are excited to be in our Palo Alto office 5 days a week to build culture and trust.

Why Join Us?

  • Top-Tier Compensation: $150k–$200k base salary + discretionary bonus.
  • Unrivaled Benefits: 100% paid health plans for you and qualified dependents, 401k match, and a Long-Term Incentive Plan.
  • Invest in Yourself: Up to $6,000/year for tuition reimbursement (e.g., for CFA/CAIA study) + $2,400/year wellness stipend.
  • Philanthropic Match: We support your giving with up to $15,000 in annual charitable matching.
