Job Description
Position Overview The Environmental Manager (Construction) plays a critical role in overseeing environmental compliance on construction sites. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental management systems to ensure that construction activities comply with environmental regulations and standards. The manager will also collaborate with project teams to promote sustainable practices and minimize environmental impacts.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and implement environmental management plans for construction projects.
- Conduct site assessments and audits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations.
- Monitor construction activities to identify potential environmental risks and propose mitigation strategies.
- Provide training and guidance to project teams on environmental best practices and compliance requirements.
- Liaise with regulatory agencies and stakeholders regarding environmental issues and compliance status.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to environmental compliance, including reports and permits.
- Investigate incidents and non-compliance issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification as a Site Safety Health Officer (SSHO) is preferred.
- Proven experience as an Environmental Manager in the construction industry.
- Knowledge of OSHA 30, EM-385-1-1, and RCRA regulations.
- Certifications such as CSP, CHST, and CIH are a plus.
- Strong understanding of civil construction practices and environmental management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
