The Director of Distribution & Logistics Operations is responsible for leading a network of nationwide third-party logistics (3PL) distribution centers, internal production and distribution facilities, and partnerships with multiple domestic suppliers.

This role focuses primarily on warehouse and fulfillment operations while also overseeing logistics strategy and transportation efficiency. The Director will develop high-performing teams, standardize operational processes, ensure safety compliance, and drive continuous improvement across all distribution locations.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, hands-on leader who thrives in execution, problem-solving, and coach warehouse teams while also providing strategic direction, for transportation and supplier coordination.

Warehouse & Distribution Leadership

• Lead day-to-day operations across all internal and 3PL distribution centers, ensuring alignment with corporate service goals, quality standards, and productivity targets.
• Build and mentor a strong network of warehouse managers, supporting their development in people management, planning, and performance improvement.
• Standardize warehouse operations through clear SOPs, KPI setting, process training, and regular audits to ensure consistency and accountability.
• Champion a proactive safety culture by ensuring the use of proper PPE, conducting training, and ensuring that safety infrastructure and reporting systems are fully in place.
• Conduct regular reviews with warehouse managers to align staffing and structure with operational needs, including recruiting and retention planning.
• Lead performance management processes across warehouse teams and provide coaching on problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and customer focus.
• Drive continuous improvement projects focused on cost reduction, space utilization, throughput, and service level enhancement using lean and other improvement methodologies.
• Collaborate with HR on compensation structures that support employee attraction and retention.
• Maintain visibility into market and sales trends and coordinate with warehouse managers to anticipate space, labor, and operational requirements.
• Support warehouse CAPEX planning, ensuring ROI analysis and alignment with strategic goals.

Logistics Strategy & Execution

• Oversee logistics functions including inbound port-to-warehouse movement, inter-facility transfers, and outbound shipping coordination.
• Develop trucking route maps and schedules to optimize delivery performance and reduce transportation costs.
• Lead the negotiation and management of transportation vendor contracts to ensure reliable service and cost competitiveness.
• Work cross-functionally with supply chain and sales teams to adjust distribution planning based on changing product lines, customer needs, or regional growth.
• Evaluate and implement logistics technology (TMS/WMS) and automation tools that support both transportation and fulfillment goals.
• Monitor logistics performance through key metrics such as transit time, on-time delivery, and freight cost per unit.
