Job Description

Responsibilities

  1. Planning and Execution
  2. Develop business requirements for analytics and media tagging needs for client’s digital properties and marketing campaigns.
  3. Creates tagging specifications for web platforms and applications based on business requirements.
  4. Diagnose issues and audit current platform configurations and tags, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  5. Translate the measurement plan into technical specifications including tagging and data capture requirements
  6. Develop and modify JavaScript code to execute data collection / tracking.
  7. Create and maintain documentation related to data layer implementation requirements.
  8. Provide best in class implementation of 3rd party tracking tools (Doubleclick, Adwords, Comscore etc.).
  9. Implementation of tag management solutions (Google Tag Manager, Adobe Dynamic Tag Manager, Tealium etc.).
  10. Partner with development teams for user acceptance testing and implementation.

  1. Quality and Process Improvement
  2. Perform all QA of tagging to ensure business requirements are properly met.
  3. Ensure quality assurance of all work product by team, adherence to delivery timelines and contractual SLAs.
  4. Develop and implement coding practices for site tagging and follow industry standards.
  5. Recommend measures to improve efficiency and/or quality of tagging.
  6. Develops key process documentation for the tag strategy and implementation process.
  7. Serve as the "Tagging Implementation Expert" by evolving and managing the solution design reference documentation which outlines analytics variables, rules, and use cases.
  8. Web Analytic Expertise
  9. Work with peers in marketing and analytics team to create, manage, and enforce digital analytics tagging standards to ensure robust and consistent data is captured for analysis.
  10. Develop reports in web analytics tools (eg - Adobe analytics, Google analytics) to support operational reporting for end users.
  11. Maintain working knowledge of industry best practices and changes in analytics platforms and identify how they impact existing clients.
  12. Serve as subject matter expert to the web development team on how to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to tag Implementations.
  13. Participates in development and training sessions.

Desired experience

  1. Experience in working with both manual and tag management analytics implantations and common troubleshooting tools, including Developer Tools, Tag Assistant, or GA Debug
  2. Experience in implementing and developing reports via web analytics solutions (Adobe Analytics , Google analytics, Quantum Metrics, etc).
  3. Experience with analytics strategies across multiple sites and apps, diverse platforms, and high-traffic sites preferred
  4. Knowledge of general Web best practices in SEM, SEO, and UX
  5. Knowledge of Web markup and front-end Web development in HTML5, CSS3, or JavaScript
  6. Ability to communicate with developers in a meaningful way.
  7. Have the technical and communication skills to clearly communicate the processes and tasks to make full use of tag management and tags
  8. Experience with training non-technical audiences

Desired qualifications

  1. 4+ years of experience with a tag management system like GTM, DTM, Tealium.
  2. 4+ years of experience implementing and using web analytics tools such as Adobe Analytics (Omniture), Google Analytics, IBM Digital Analytics (Coremetrics), and/or Webtrends.
  3. 2+ years of experience implementing 3rd party tracking tools (Doubleclick, Adwords, Comscore etc.).
  4. 2+ years working with raw clickstream data (via SQL, Python, etc) to develop custom reporting
