JOB – Design Engineering Manager

LOCATION – St. Petersburg, FL

TERM – Permanent

SALARY – $130,000 - $160,000 per annum.

A leading OEM within the packaging machinery sector is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead their Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams. This is a permanent opportunity to take ownership of engineering delivery across full project lifecycles.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing cross-disciplinary teams within machinery design and build environments, with proven experience taking bespoke machines from concept through production while ensuring strict adherence to customer schedules and timelines.

Those with experience driving technical excellence, coordinating resources, and ensuring on-time project delivery within capital equipment manufacturing will be of particular interest.

The Design Engineering Manager will ideally have the following attributes:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
• Proven leadership experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong background in machinery design, build, and commissioning.
• Experience delivering bespoke projects to customer specifications within defined budgets and deadlines.
• Excellent project management, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to foster collaboration across engineering, production, and customer-facing teams.

The Design Engineering Manager’s role will involve:

• Leading and developing Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering teams.
• Overseeing full lifecycle project delivery from concept through design, build, and production.
• Ensuring strict adherence to customer schedules, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Driving technical problem-solving and providing guidance on complex engineering challenges.
• Coordinating with operations, production, and project management teams to align resources effectively.
• Implementing processes and best practices to ensure quality, reliability, and continuous improvement.
• Acting as a key point of contact between engineering and customer-facing teams.
