Job Description

  • Role: Associate/Senior Associate Underwriting, Real Estate
  • Location: Washington DC/ Bethesda
  • In office: 3 days
  • Salary: 110-130k (based of experience)
  • Out client, nationwide full-service bank and commercial lender is looking for a Associate/Senior Associate Underwriting, Real Estate, due to growth. Great culture with an emphasis on "work hard play hard".

    Non Negotiables: *** Please ONLY apply if applicable ***

    • Minimum of 4+ years of commercial real estate financial modeling experience with a bank, real estate development/operating company, real estate private equity firm, commercial real estate brokerage operations, or commercial finance company required
    • 4-6 years of experience with a d iversity of different commercial real estate loans NOT someone who has exclusively done multifamily their entire career etc.
    • Advanced Excel – very analytical, financial modeling (there will be a test)

    Job Overview:

    • Support Relationship Managers in:
    • Conducting financial modeling and analysis for commercial real estate transactions
    • Screening prospective financing opportunities
    • Evaluating financing requests to assess credit quality
    • Identify and analyze key risks related to property performance, market dynamics, and other relevant factors to determine overall risk profiles
    • Assess guarantors’ financial strength to evaluate the quality of additional credit support
    • Conduct market research to analyze trends affecting property performance, including supply and demand dynamics, vacancy rates, rent growth, cap rates, and valuation
    • Review proposed loan structures to ensure they effectively mitigate and manage risk
    • Prepare and present independent credit risk assessments supported by thorough analysis
    • Communicate and collaborate with Relationship Managers, Team Leaders, and internal stakeholders across various levels of management
    • Assist in the ongoing monitoring and management of the loan portfolio
    • Perform additional duties as needed
