Description

HumCaps client is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer/Planner to join their team. The Buyer/Planner is responsible for material planning and some purchasing of the assigned manufacturing cell(s). You’ll be well versed in supply chain and production planning with APICS experience a plus. The role is responsible for ensuring a reliable flow of materials in coordination with other team members: cell leads, strategic purchasing, engineering, operations management. Key Details:

  • Work Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Location: This is an onsite position located in Addison, TX.
  • Compensation: Based on background, experience and comprehensive benefits package.
  • Work Eligibility: Must be authorized to work in the United States.

What you’ll do

  • Leads value stream planning and purchasing activities to ensure customer on-time delivery and quality objectives are met. Works with cell lead(s) to drive, track, and manage all work in process (WIP) and finished goods (FG) in the work cell.
  • Manages all work order due dates in accordance with capacity planning. Aligns work order due dates with incoming purchase orders and work orders. Ensures alignment of work orders to customer promise dates.
  • Owns MRP inventory, lead time, safety stock settings related to parts assigned to cell value stream.
  • Responsible for managing purchase orders for components dedicated to the manufacturing cell. Works with strategic buyers who may manage a portion of your purchased components such as PWAs.
  • Leads and champions operational excellence, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continuous improvement. Develops recommendations for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What will make you successful in this role (skills)

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or supply chain related field OR 5+ years of experience in buying or supply chain OR a combination of college achievement and experience.
  • Strong MRP experience is a must.
  • Oracle NetSuite experience.
  • Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, raw material specifications, and aerospace specifications.
  • Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • ​Electronics manufacturing experience.
  • APICS experience.
