Job Description

Position Summary

The Pastry Cook is responsible for daily production of pastries, desserts, and components for member dining, banquets, and special events. This position focuses on consistency, organization, and reliable execution within a structured pastry program. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in a high-volume private club environment.Key Responsibilities

  • Execute daily pizza and dessert prep, production, and finishing for à la carte and banquet service.
  • Follow established recipes and plating standards accurately.
  • Handle light dough work limited to pizza dough as needed.
  • Prepare bulk items for banquets, buffets, and special events.
  • Maintain clean, organized workstations and adhere to all sanitation and food safety standards.
  • Label, date, rotate, and store all pastry items appropriately.
  • Communicate product shortages or equipment issues promptly and clearly.
  • Support seasonal menu changes by executing new recipes and components provided by the Pastry Chef.
  • Work efficiently and independently without requiring oversight beyond standard direction.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 1–2 years pastry experience in a professional kitchen preferred.
  • Competent in foundational pastry techniques: cakes, tart shells, fillings, creams, cookies, mousses, and basic finishing.
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to manage daily prep lists and work independently.
  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Professional, respectful demeanor and the ability to work clean under pressure.
