Role Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily functions of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory accounting. This role ensures financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and effective internal controls through the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures. This role will require learning each area of accounting to ensure adequate coverage and cross-training.

Reporting directly to the Controller, this role plays a critical part in supporting cross-functional departments and aligning finance with operational goals. The Accounting Manager also serves as a key liaison between the Finance and Operations teams, promoting collaboration and driving process improvements that enhance efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and inventory cost data for both companies.
• Ensure timely and accurate processing of receipts, timely collections and waivers in the accounts receivable department as well as ensure there is proper cross training
• Administrator of Corporate Credit Cards and Virtual Payables
• Assist on the annual Inventory counts working with the VP of Operations, print tags and run reports etc.
• Prepare journal entries and reconcile prepaid and accrual accounts
• Coordinating and preparing for annual review includes working closely with external auditors.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
• Manage the AP and AR month and year-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
• Back up for Fixed Assets tag assignment
• Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
• Implement and oversee the use of accounting software and systems, ensuring they meet the organization’s needs and are used efficiently.
• Handle complex accounting projects by conducting due diligence, integrating financial systems, and ensuring compliance with financial reporting requirements.
• Other tasks as assigned

Required Skills:

• Proficiency in accounting principles
• Knowledge of internal Controls – developing and maintaining
• Demonstrative abilities in collaborative team building and consensus.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe
• Project management skills; able to manage schedules and deadlines for ongoing initiatives.
• Attention to detail

Qualifications:

• CPA preferred
• Master’s degree in accounting or related field + 5 years of managerial experience

OR

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field +/or 10 years of managerial experience.

Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
